I was born and raised in THE most fantastic city in the world.. AUSTIN..shoot, need I say more? I also have two teenagers ages 18 and 19. In September my son will begin his first year of college at Blinn University, and my daughter will begin her third year at the University of Texas. I do many different things to make a living, variety is the spice of life!! I'm a jewelry designer, it is so relaxing and I just love it, I can hardly call it work. I also taught myself how to design websites about 9 years ago so that I could sell my jewelry online in addition to salons and craft shows. After I designed my jewelry website I decided to get a degree in web design! I've always loved computers anyway so it was a natural thing for me to go in that direction. So, I also design and maintain websites in addition to designing and selling jewelry. My friends have always come to me with their computer troubles over the years; I've been self-taught in just about everything I do. I learn quickly, I love figuring out mechanical things, tinkering and trying to do things without asking for help. I'm never afraid to take a computer apart and put it back together either, just give me that darn screwdriver! I have 20+ years of experience with both hardware and software..I fear no computer! Hey, I also fear no dog!!! For the last five years i have been involved in animal rescue. I started by volunteering with various groups in Austin. Then I founded a wonderful group called Ponderosa Pomeranian Rescue Inc. We are a federal non-profit charity and have over 70 volunteers. We will celebrate our third year in operation on June 11, 2006. We rescue pomeranians and other petite breeds from kill shelters all over Texas or from owners that can no longer care for them. We are always looking for new volunteers to either foster or help out at adoption days at Petco and Petsmart. If you can help, please contact us at info@ponderapom.com or check out the website at www.ponderapom.com. Come on, you know you want to foster a tiny little fur ball!! |
